Fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture and other blemishes can have a significant impact on the appearance of our skin. Skin peels are an increasingly popular way to treat these unwanted skin changes.
Skin Peels FAQs
  • What can skin peels be used for?
Skin peels create firmer smoother skin and can reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles, leading to a luminous and more youthful looking complexion.
Skin peels can benefit people who have ageing or sun damaged skin with fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture or dark areas. People who have oily skin, acne or acne scarring can also benefit.
Our range of skin peels can also be tailored to different skin types including darker skin.
  • How do skin peels work?
Skin peels stimulate exfoliation and new collagen formation in the upper layers of the skin.
The advanced skin peels we use are only available for use by medical professionals. They have been carefully formulated to deliver outstanding cosmetic results and cause only very minimal after effects, unlike many other types of comparable exfoliating or resurfacing treatments available.
  • Who will administer my skin peel?
An important difference with the care we provide is that all of our skin peels are performed by our expert doctor, and these important treatments are never delegated to any other member of staff.
  • What types of skin peels do you use?
At Revive we currently use the following types of skin peel which have been specially formulated for use only by medical professionals.
Our expert doctor will carefully assess your skin, at your free consultation, and recommend the most appropriate Skin peel program for you.
    Lactic Acid Peel
These skin peels produce smoother and luminous skin, without the recovery time required for deeper peels. These peels are as effective but less irritating than the more commonly used glycolic acid peels.
    Ascorbic acid peel
This is the gentlest skin peel we offer and can safely be used on sensitive and darker skin types. It still provides an effective exfoliation without producing anything more than mild skin peeling or dryness a few days after the treatment.
    Trichloroacetic acid peel
These peels are an excellent way to treat skin wrinkles, lines and blemishes in more sun damaged skin.
    Salicylic acid peel
This is the best type of skin peel for treating acne lesions in people with fair skin. It can reduce the number and depth of acne lesions in the skin and does not have the disadvantages and side effects of continuous drug therapy.
  • How is a skin peel done?
After your free consultation you will be supplied with a combination of special pre treatment products to use for 2 weeks before you have the skin peel. This prepares the skin and ensures that your skin peel will deliver the best possible results for your skin.
On the day of the treatment the first step is to use a skin cleansing solution to remove make up and clean the skin.
Sterile alcohol is then applied to the area to be treated to sterilize the skin.
The appropriate skin peel solution is then applied carefully by the doctor to the required areas.
